In 1993, Ferrari first introduced the Ferrari Challenge race series which is a Ferrari-only championship that gives its clients the ability to purchase a turnkey Ferrari race car from the factory. Owners are then given the opportunity to race their Challenge car in a Ferrari-sanctioned race series where full support will be offered from crews, fuel, tires, parts, etc. You just show up and drive! The first Ferrari model offered in the Challenge series was the 348 Berlinetta and a race variant has been offered for all subsequent models – the F355, 360, F430, 458, and lastly, the 488. The Ferrari challenge now encompasses three official championships around the world, North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Competitors from each series are brought together at the Annual World Finals, called the Finali Mondiali, which changes location annually.
In addition to the full grid of 296 Challenge race cars, we are thrilled to continue to race the 488 Challenge Evo model for one more season. This five-round Championship (no Montreal or Finali Mondiali) will consist of two classes on track during the same sessions at Ferrari Challenge test days and official rounds. Drivers who are racing the full season in 296 Challenge Championship, racing in both Ferrari models during the same race weekend.
